Elicia is passionate about helping individuals and families build meaningful skills that increase communication, independence, confidence, and participation in everyday life. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Applied Behavior Analysis from the University of North Texas and later earned a Master of Education in Foundations of Applied Behavior Analysis. Her additional studies in Child Development and Communication Disorders continue to shape her developmental approach to helping individuals build meaningful skills across ages and stages. Early in her career, Elicia fell in love with supporting special needs families – recognizing that when one family member has differing abilities, the entire family has different needs, roles, strengths, and supports to consider, including parents, siblings, extended family, caregivers, and most importantly, the individual being served.
Her approach is grounded in child and lifespan development, focusing on helping individuals build the tools they need to take the next step in their journey, regardless of age or ability level. Elicia believes we should keep the fun in FUNctional learning, building practical and meaningful skills that not only make a difference today but continue opening doors for years to come. Elicia loves fun and even bold colors, and she is not afraid of a happy pattern – which probably explains why she has blue hair. Her motto is, “Life is too short to be boring.” She loves exploring and learning about new places, cultures, and the stories behind what makes people tick. Her current adventures include having completed exploring all 254 counties in Texas, working toward visiting every Texas county courthouse, visiting the remaining 24 U.S. states, and exploring cultures from around the world through her Plate Passport challenge, where she is learning about the traditions, stories, and foods of 100 countries.
