Joy Martin – OTR
Joy Martin is a pediatric occupational therapist. She received her Bachelors in Health Studies from Texas Woman’s University in 2005 and a Masters of Occupational Therapy in 2006 and is a member of the American Occupational Therapy Association. She has worked in the pediatric clinical setting since 2007 and considers children her greatest passion. Joy has specialized in Sensory-based feeding therapy, but has experience in treating children with a variety of diagnoses including but not limited to cerebral palsy, downs syndrome, autism, dysgraphia, developmental delay, and sensory integration dysfunction, intellectual disabilities and other neuralgic differences. Joy is certified in Interactive Metronome and has been trained in Sensory Integration, SOS feeding therapy, Handwriting Without Tears, social skill development, NMES electrical stimulation and NDT for infants and children. Joy currently resides in Fort Worth, Texas with her husband.

Evita Lambert – Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant
Evita Lambert is a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) licensed in the State of Texas. She graduated from Howard University in 2007 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Sciences and obtained her Associate’s Degree in Occupational Therapy in 2016. Since then Evita has been working in pediatrics in the home health setting. She works with children of all ages and has experience with a variety of diagnoses such as Developmental Delay, ADD/ADHD, Autism, Down Syndrome, and Learning Disabilities. Evita has worked in other settings such as Skilled Nursing Facilities but loves working with children and seeing them grow and achieve. She feels blessed to be able to work in a career that she enjoys. Evita resides in Dallas, Texas with her husband.
Mahlon Ware – Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant
Mahlon became a certified occupational therapy assistant in 2015, graduating from Navarro College with Cum Laude honors, where he received his Associate of Applied Science degree in Occupational therapy. He has worked in a skilled nursing facility and a sensory-based pediatric outpatient clinic. Mahlon is certified in Interactive Metronome and is in the process of completing his certification in Handwriting Without Tears. Mahlon also has aspirations of attaining credentials to become a registered occupational therapist.
Beth Ward – Physical Therapist
Beth Ward has been in clinical practice in Pediatric Physical Therapy since graduating from Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois in 1970. She worked in Home Health and in an Easter Seal out-patient clinic program in Chicago before her family relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada. In Las Vegas she was the Owner/Manager of 3 Pediatric clinics that offered Speech, Occupational and Physical therapy to the families of children with a wide variety of special needs. In 2013 she moved to Texas to be closer to family and continues her work in Pediatric Physical Therapy.
Beth considers herself to be a life-time learner and has taken the opportunity to develop clinical skills in diverse areas. She has a particular interest in Cranio-sacral Therapy and has taken many other courses over the years in such areas as Yoga for the Special Needs Child and Neurobiological Approaches to treatment. Some of the most important learning along the way has come from the children and their families with whom she has been privileged to serve.

Sandy Grant – Physical Therapist Assistant
Sandy has been a Physical Therapist Assistant since 2008 and has worked in many areas of therapy. She enjoys treating children, and has several years of pediatric experience. Before graduating from McLennan Community College’s PTA program, Sandy spent 17 years as a public school teacher, specializing in Special Education. Not only does she love working with children, Sandy transfers this passion as an adjunct professor at Tarrant County College’s PTA program. Sandy resides in Arlington with her husband and two cats.
Certified Speech Therapists
Ana L. Rothschild – Speech Language Pathologist
Ana Rothschild grew up in South Texas. She is a bilingual (English-Spanish) pediatric speech language pathologist. She graduated from Texas Woman’s University with both a Bachelor’s of Science in Communications Disorders and a Masters in Speech Language Pathology. Ana worked in the school setting with a variety of populations Pre-K through High School. She then worked in the home health care setting providing services in speech, language and feeding disorders. Ana has held her Certificate of Clinical Competence from The American Speech-Language- Hearing Association (ASHA) since 2008 and is a member of both The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and The Texas Speech-Language-Hearing Association TSHA.
Karen Gillum – Speech Language Pathologist
Karen received her Bachelor of Science in Speech Pathology in 1996, and her Masters of Science in Communication Disorders in 1998 from the University of Texas at Dallas. She has held a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) since 1999. Karen began her career in the school setting where she provided services to children with a variety of diagnoses. She left the school setting to work in pediatric home health where she provided speech, language, and feeding therapy for children in their homes. Karen has a passion for helping children reach their highest potential. She is a certified Vitalstim provider and has an extensive background in feeding and swallowing. She is also trained in the use of PECS and has experience with a variety of dynamic communication devices. Karen maintains memberships in ASHA as well as the Texas Speech-Language Hearing Association.
Speech Language Pathology Assistants
Lainey Sherman – Speech Language Pathologist Assistant
Lainey graduated from Baylor University in 2014 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Physiology. After graduating, she completed leveling classes at Stephen F. Austin State University for Speech-Language Pathology in order to become a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant. Lainey has two years of experience working in the public school setting in East Texas where she worked with children of all ages and a variety of communication disorders. Lainey is enthusiastic about being a part of the CEPT team and is ready to make a difference in the lives of children and their families.
Tammy Harrell – Office Coordinator
Tammy has lived in the Mansfield and Kennedale area her entire life. She has worked in the therapy industry for a little over five years now specializing in office management. Tammy has a passion to help patients and families achieve their goals and looks forward to working as a part of the Cutting Edge team to do so. In her spare time she enjoys her new grand daughter, family and friends.
