I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank Kate Lundgren, owner of Cutting Edge Pediatric Therapy – Allen, for the time and care she invested in guiding our family. We first visited the facility to enroll our child in speech therapy, and later added occupational therapy as well. During this process, we had the opportunity to meet with Kate to discuss how the Cutting Edge team could support our child’s progress. She took the time to walk us through the methodology, approach, and processes they use to help children grow and succeed. What stood out most during our conversation was Kate’s passion and commitment. She shared why she started this business, what she observes happening across the industry, and her vision of making Cutting Edge truly different from other therapy providers by focusing on holistic support for families. After we shared our story, Kate asked several thoughtful questions to better understand our situation and ensure we had everything in place to support our child. Through that discussion, we realized there were important areas we had not previously considered. One of the most significant topics she brought to our attention was establishing guardianship and the potential challenges families may face if it is not set up correctly. Kate kindly provided a few references and explained the guardianship process so we could better understand its importance. After doing our own research, we realized how critical this step is for families like ours—and how many people are simply not aware of it. Because of Kate’s guidance, we were able to start the process, and we are now well on our way to establishing guardianship for our child. If we had not had this conversation with Kate, we may have overlooked something that is incredibly important for our child’s future. We are truly grateful that she took the time to share this knowledge with us. The value of that guidance cannot be overstated.
