Sherri Markowski – OTR, MOT, SIPT, CST
Sherri graduated from Texas Tech University with a Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy in 2004. She specializes in the field of sensory integration and is certified in the Sensory Integration and Praxis Test (SIPT). Sherri has been trained in a variety of methodologies including CranioSacral Therapy, Interactive Metronome, Level 1 Listening and InTime, Astronaut Training Protocol, SOS Feeding, Reflex Integration, and Handwriting Without Tears. Sherri has participated in numerous speaking engagements on the topic of Sensory Integration. Recently, along with Kate, Sherri was invited to speak internationally in southern China regarding training for Sensory Integration treatment. After arriving in Houston, Sherri discovered a need for the unique services that Cutting Edge offers. Sherri, along with the entire CEPT Houston staff, is excited to bring this opportunity to Katy.
Katherine Gort – OTR
Katie graduated from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, New Orleans with a Masters in Occupational Therapy in 2011. While a graduate student, she received clinical experience in the inpatient, outpatient, and pediatric settings. She has a love for children and has focused her career in pediatrics. Katie has experience working with children with a variety of diagnoses, including autism spectrum disorder, cerebral palsy, down syndrome, ADHD, sensory processing disorders, and other genetic and neurological disorders. Katie is trained in Brain Gym 101, aquatic therapy, and NDT facilitation techniques, sensory integration, Interactive Metronome, Therapeutic Listening, In Time, and Kinesiotaping.
Vickie Liang – OTR
Vickie received her Bachelor of Science in Human Development from Cornell University in 2010 and her Master of Science in Family and Child Studies from Texas State University in 2012. She graduated with her Master of Occupational Therapy degree from Texas Woman’s University in 2015. She is a member of the American Occupational Therapy Association, the Texas Occupational Therapy Association, the American Occupational Therapy Foundation, and Pi Theta Epsilon Occupational Therapy Honor Society. As a graduate research assistant, Vickie presented a research poster at the 2015 Texas Woman’s University Student Creative Arts and Research Symposium. In collaboration with faculty from the college of nursing and school of occupational therapy at TWU, she led a workshop regarding the application of telehealth in occupational therapy at the 2015 Texas Occupational Therapy Association Mountain Central Conference. Vickie is trained in Interactive Metronome. She is excited to be a part of the Cutting Edge team and to have the opportunity to work with families in Houston and Katy.

Ashtyn Antley – COTA
Ashtyn graduated from University of Louisiana at Monroe from the Occupational Therapy Assistant program in 2014. She came to Cutting Edge with a passion for pediatrics. She wants to pursue that passion and help each child reach their highest level of independence as they transition throughout life. Ashtyn is a certified InTime provider through Advance Brain Technologies. She plans on excelling as a licensed therapist by enrolling in continuing education courses in order to stay up to date on the latest information and technology. She is proud to dedicate her time to delivering the unique services that Cutting Edge has to offer.
Brittany Duncan – COTA
Brittany graduated from Murray State College’s Occupational Therapy Assistant program in 2016. She recently moved from Oklahoma to Texas in search for a job in pediatrics and came across Cutting Edge Pediatric Therapy. Her passion is to collaborate with parents and team members to provide a unique therapy treatment that is just right for every child. She looks forward to gaining more knowledge from her fellow teammates and is excited to be part of the team.

Certified Speech Therapists
Tatum Budreau – Speech Language Pathologist
Tatum Budreau is from Lansing, Michigan. She brings over 15 years’ experience to the Cutting Edge family. She graduated with her Bachelor of Science Degree in Communication Disorders in December 1997 from Central Michigan University. After graduation, she worked as an SLPA for 6 years treating both adult and pediatric populations in an inpatient/outpatient rehabilitation hospital gaining valuable experience working with stroke, traumatic brain injury, and feeding disorders. In 2003, Tatum relocated to Scottsdale, Arizona where she worked for the school district in a variety of settings including pre-k through high school. In December 2005, Tatum completed her master’s degree at Northern Arizona University in Speech Language Pathology and began her clinical fellowship year servicing pediatric home health clients with speech, language and swallowing delays. In 2009 Tatum moved to Katy, Texas and initially serviced the adult population in the skilled nursing and assisted living settings before returning to her love of pediatrics at an outpatient private practice setting. Tatum has been a member of the American Speech and Hearing Association, holding a Certificate of Clinical Competence, since 2005. Tatum is very excited to begin her journey with you as the new speech therapy coordinator at Katy CEPT. She brings a strong background in sensory integration and feeding experience to the Katy CEPT team.
Ember Brown – Speech Language Pathologist
Ember Brown is a pediatric speech-language pathologist who graduated from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas with a Bachelors Degree in Communication Disorders and a Masters Degree in Speech Language Pathology. Since 2001 Ember has had the opportunity to work in the public school system as well as outpatient rehabilitation, home health and the private sector. In addition to evaluating and treating Language Disorders, Articulation Disorders, Childhood Apraxia, and Auditory Processing Disorders, Ember also has experience working with Occupational Therapists to treat Sensory Integration Disorders in a co-treatment approach. “I love working in a profession that is both challenging and rewarding…I am so exciting to be returning to the clinic setting and joining Cutting Edge Pediatric Therapy!”
Ashley Abrams – Speech Language Pathologist Assistant
Ashley Abrams graduated in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Communication Disorders from Texas State University. As a licensed Speech- Language Pathologist Assistant, Ashley has worked in clinical settings including out patient facilities in central Texas and in Houston. Ashley is passionate about the pediatric population and service to the community through therapy and awareness. She is so excited to be a part of the CEPT team and is ready to make the difference. Ashley plans to further her education and purse a Master’s degree. She lives in Katy, Texas.
Alyssa Carter – Office Manager
Alyssa joined our Houston team in 2016, coming in with an extensive background in the medical field. At a young age she started volunteering with multiple local Special Needs groups and has continued this work into her adult/collegiate career. As a result of her involvement in the special needs community, Alyssa found her true passion of helping children with Special needs and disabilities early on in life. In her free time Alyssa and her family help at the local animal shelter as well as foster animals in need.
Krizia Cruz – Office Coordinator
Krizia joined our Houston team September 2016, she started in the medical field back in 2008. She received her MA in 2008. Which led her to clinical research than moved to oncology throughout the years. She has two beautiful girls that make her love for children stronger. Krizia on her free time likes to enjoy time with her daughters, taking them to fun children places. She is very excited to join the Cutting Edge team and looks forward to connect with the patients and their parents.
Sarah Conley – Therapy Tech
Sarah graduated from Missouri Southern State University in May 2016 with a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology – Health Promotion and Wellness. As a student she spent time as an intern at an outpatient physical therapy clinic, and as a volunteer at the Bill & Virginia Leffen Center for Autism. Before moving to Texas, Sarah spent some time at an orthotics and prosthetics clinic where she became more familiar with some physical disabilities such as MS, cerebral palsy, and Charcot-Marie. She is currently in the application process for a Masters of Occupational Therapy degree.
