cutting edge cares

Cutting Edge Cares is a Texas 501c3 tax-exempt nonprofit corporation that is focused on changing the fabric of our community in two ways:

First, we focus on community projects utilizing the skills, talents, and love of our special needs clients at Cutting Edge Pediatric and Adult Therapy. We create opportunities so our clients can give back to the community, which builds their employable skills and self confidence, in addition to supporting and strengthening their families.

Second, our projects benefit the communities where our clients and employees work, live and play.

Some projects have included:

  • Planning, assembling, and delivering snack packs for a local homeless shelter

Joe Lundgren

Joe Lundgren

Vice President of Operations

Joe Lundgren is the Vice President of Operations and owner of Cutting Edge Pediatric & Adult Therapy. Yes it is also true that Joe has the supreme privilege of also being the husband of Mrs. Kate Lundgren and the father to their two sons Trenton and Spencer. Joe graduated from Pepperdine University in 1989 and then from the University of La Verne with his MBA in 1994 and has spent his professional career in the tile and stone industry. In 1997, Joe was offered a position with Dal-Tile in Dallas, Texas which is how the family ended up here in North Dallas area as transplants from California.

Similar to Kate, Joe’s passion for understanding his children drove his aspirations to foster the success of Cutting Edge Pediatric & Adult Therapy and to supports his wife’s dreams. With a mind for corporate america and a passion for the special needs community, Joe has been an invaluable piece of the CEPT puzzle, helping to push the company in growth and community impact. Cutting Edge Cares is a continuation of that passion for Joe and he hopes that through the efforts of Jennah, his wife, and himself, that Cutting Edge Cares will make an impact in not only the special needs community but the community at large that Cutting Edge is blessed to be a part of.

Kate Lundgren

Kate Lundgren

Clinical Director - OTR

Kate Lundgren is the clinical director and owner of Cutting Edge Pediatric & Adult Therapy. She graduated from San Jose State University and has been a registered Occupational Therapist since 1989. She received a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Pepperdine University in 1992. Kate specialized in the treatment for neurological disorders and traumas for the first 10 years of her career and completed her Neuro Developmental Treatment (NDT) certification in 1995.

After moving to Dallas in 1997 from Southern California, Kate and her husband, Joe, were informed, like many of our clients, that their two sons were on the “Autism Spectrum”. The diagnosis drove a change in Kate’s career and treatment focus in Occupational Therapy to the treatment of pediatric disorders, more specifically, Autism and Sensory Integration Dysfunction.

With years of pediatric experience under her belt, she decided to take her wealth of skills and knowledge and open up a unique clinic focused on the “Cutting Edge” treatment of children with “special needs.” Instead of just “treating” the client, the goal of Cutting Edge Pediatric & Adult Therapy (CEPT) is to partner with families to prepare the client for a safe and abundant future.

Though her focus has largely been on improving the lives of her clients and their families through her multiple CEPT locations, Kate jumped at the opportunity to support Jennah in her efforts to further the difference that Cutting Edge could make in the special needs community. As a parent of two special needs children, Kate understands the hardships that can come with raising special needs children, and it is through her unique perspective as a mother and empathy for other parents in a similar position that Kate’s passion for Cutting Edge Cares has flourished.

The combination of these two characteristics is contagious, which creates a motivation circle that drives others to catch on to her joyous spirit in all she puts her mind to.

Therapy with a purpose – it's imitated, but not replicated.
